Woodmark, Heathman Make AAA Four-Diamond List

Kirkland's two luxury boutique hotels have made the respected list every full year they've each been in business.

Kirkland’s and hotels have both made the four-diamond list on AAA’s 2012 ratings for Washington state, announced on Wednesday by the travel service.

A total of 32 lodgings and eight restaurants are represented on the AAA Four Diamond Award list in Washington and northern Idaho this year.

“Four and Five Diamond hotels and restaurants are committed to providing every guest with a high level of personalized service in comfortable, luxurious surroundings,” said Jennifer Cook, spokeswoman for AAA Washington. “To achieve and maintain this level of hospitality is a significant accomplishment, and we are proud to recognize these local establishments with AAA Four and Five Diamond Awards.”

It was the 22nd year the Woodmark earned the honor, and the fourth for the Heathman -- in other words, each has earned it every full year of their existence, since the Woodmark opened in 1989 and the Heathman in 2007.

The Heathman also was recently named the in customer ratings by the on-line travel site TripAdvisor.

The ratings are a 75-year tradition, and AAA rates more properties than any other rating entity. It is one of only two that conduct physical, on-site evaluations, assigning AAA/CAA Approved lodgings and restaurants One to Five AAA Diamonds. A detailed list, including photos, can be found at AAA.com/diamonds.

AAA Washington has been serving traveling public since 1904.
