Council to Discuss Pot Zones: What's Up in Kirkland

The Kirkland City Council will consider potential further zoning restrictions for marijuana processing and retail establishments at it's meeting Tuesday, Aug. 6.

The Kirkland City Council will discuss where marijuana processors and retailers could pop up under the new I-502 rules--at Totem Lake, Rose Hill, or Carillon Point, for example--at its meeting tonight, Aug. 6, and will consider holding a Sept. 3 public hearing on any potential additional zoning restrictions. Council meetings are held in Council Chambers at 123 5th Ave. and can be watched live online. View today's meeting schedule on the city's website.

Other events today include:

  • Give crooks the boot by participating in National Night Out Against Crime. The Kirkland Police and Fire Departments will be attending community events between 6 and 9 p.m.  To show support of National Night Out, Kirkland residents are encouraged to get together with neighbors and friends.  Turn your porchlights on, come outside and take a stand against crime with your neighbors.
  • Tuesday's Kirkland Kids Concert features Recess Monkey--another must-see.
