Beating the Heat in Kirkland

I think in the city of Kirkland we need help with temperatures above 80 degrees. So I have some public service to administer.

I THINK in the city of Kirkland we need help with temperatures above 80 degrees. The weather is so cold and damp typically that when the temps inch up to 70 degrees we are all so very grateful. Sunshine is a wonderful retribution.

But once the tempurature hits 81 degrees all gratitude is long gone. Poor Kirkland has had lot of days recently of the weatherman telling us all about the impeding temps. Everywhere you go, getting gas or at the local grocery store, you hear, "Tomorrow is going to be in the 80's -- OOOOHHH!" or "I'm going to open up the house early to get the cool air into the house" or "I'm going to put out the slip and slide for the kids."

Then the tempurature hits like 86 degrees and all the cars built before 1991 blow their radiators. Traffic is horrible coming into and heading out of Kirkland. After a couple of days of the heat we hear the stories of "I hate sleeping at night with THIS HEAT." The stories of the friends and their CENTRAL AIR and how it is too cold at night. Sheeesh. Can't make anyone happy with 80 degrees in Kirkland.

And so I have some public service to administer. The best spots to head to when the heat hits are as follows; the dairy department, the in Kingsgate and any liquor store in Kirkland. The best beaches to cool off are ( lots of trees ), ( lots of water ), and with a great hike down to Lake Washington ( perhaps not in Kirkland since the annexation ). I can't comment on as it still looks like a work in progress withe the recent modernizaton.

I would like to be clear, I am a super baby when the "HEAT" hits. I have been known to bribe my sweet friend to let us hang at her house with air conditioning. Stock up on popcicles and watermelon is my advice -- and remember it will be February anytime now.
