Pacific Science Center Launches New Career Development Opportunity for High School Students in Bellevue

Register today for the Environmental Science & Technology Practicum!

Do you know a high school student interested in environmental science and clean technology? This fall, the Pacific Science Center at Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center in Bellevue is launching the Environmental Science and Technology Practicum! Space is limited, so register today!

The Practicum is an eight week survey course for high school students from around the region.  Students will gain hands-on experience in the field and in our new state-of-the-art wet lab, as well as opportunities to interact with high level professionals from environmental and clean technology disciplines to learn about careers and educational pathways in these fields.  This meets an important need in our community as many students express an interest in these fields yet there are few in- or
out-of-school opportunities for in-depth exploration or experience in this realm.

The Practicum will be held on Saturday mornings from 10am - 1pm starting on Saturday, October 6 and running through Saturday, December 15 (with holiday weekends excluded).  In a typical session, students will spend the first two hours in the field and the laboratory, and the last hour in an informal discussion with an environmental scientist or clean tech professional.

8 Week Session,
Begins October 6, 2012

Saturdays 10am-1pm

Cost: $375

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
