Lunch Buddies Needed in Kirkland Schools

The Lunch Buddy Program is a way for caring adults in the community to help local elementary students succeed. A teacher, principal or counselor usually request a lunch buddy for a student who would benefit from this type of volunteer match. Buddies meet for one hour a week and the time benefits not only the student, but the adult too!

As a buddy you will be a friend and mentor to an elementary age child. You will be someone they can count on seeing every week during his or her lunch period. Buddies eat together, play games, laugh and share stories. It's a great break in a volunteer's day and can make a student's day extra fun!

Studies show that students with a mentor are less likely to miss class and more likely to have a better overall attitude toward school.

This is a wonderful way for groups of co-workers or retirees to make a difference in schools.

One hour of your time each week may be something a student will treasure for years to come!

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
