The Kohl’s Department StoresKohl’s Cares® Scholarship Program honors nearly 200 deserving volunteers with $1,000 scholarships toward higher education. Through the Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program, Kohl's is encouraging promising youth to further their education at a time when college costs continue to rise and parents are relying heavily on federal and private student loans to fund higher education.*

Local recipients of $1,000 scholarships are:

Ellie Behn, 9, Lake Stevens – On a mission to ensure that no family or child goes without gifts at Christmas, Ellie held a toy and food drive that collected more than 900 pounds of food and more than 1,000 toys for families in need over the holiday season.
