Traffic Alert: Holiday Tree Lighting, December 7, Lake Street

Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the Holiday Tree Lighting to be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013. The following roads will be closed and detours will be in place from 2 to 9 p.m.:

·         Lake Street S between Central Way and 2nd Avenue S

·         Kirkland Avenue between City Dock and Main Street

·         Park Lane from Lake Street S to Main Street

The annual event will include the tree lighting, a visit from Santa, music, gingerbread house competition, and other holiday activities. Event goers are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool, and plan for their parking in advance.  For public parking, including the Kirkland Municipal Garage, go to www.kirklandwa.gov/parking.
