Busy St. Pat's Saturday Means Traffic Delays Downtown

The inaugural Shamrock Run and the Kirkland American Little's League's annual Jamboree will add to the downtown excitement -- and congestion.

 

This Saturday will be a busy day on downtown Kirkland with the inaugural and the Kirkland American Little League’s annual Jamboree, so the city is reminding drivers to expect delays.

Saturday, March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day as well, which is always busy downtown.


More than 1,100 runners are expected for the Shamrock Run, with the start/finish at . The Market Street and Central Way entrance to Lakeshore Plaza Lot will be closed from 5-11 a.m., and boat launch access at the park will not be available then. 

The 5k run leaves the park and heads east on Central Way, south on Lake Street, east on Kirkland Avenue, east on Kirkland Way, north on 6th Street, west on 7th Avenue, west on 7th Avenue W and then north on Waverly Way. At 10th Avenue West, the runners will turn, heading south on Waverly Way and Market Street to the finish at Marina Park. See the course map attached to this story.

The KALL’s 2012 Opening Day Ceremonies will be at 's Lee Johnson Field, with team line-ups starting at 9:30 a.m. and activities until noon.

Finally the Eastside Firefighters Pipes & Drums will be doing their 2012 Pub Crawl, with performances in Kirkland at the (5:50-6 p.m.), and (6-7:30 p.m.)

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
