Filling Up Before Labor Day? Where to Find the Best Gas Prices in Kirkland

Day-to-day prices are setting record highs, according to AAA.

Getting ready to head out on a road trip for Labor Day Weekend? Prepare yourself for pain at the pump—gas prices are hitting record highs across the country and are not expected to start coming back down until after the holiday.

Before you pack up the car and hit the road, make sure you check out Kirkland Patch's Commute page to see low gas prices near you. A search Friday morning found a low price of $3.78 at , and $3.97 at the . (You can always find the Commute page under "More Stuff" at the top of the site.)

According to AAA, Washington state has experienced the sixth-highest average price increase—20 cents per gallon—from Aug. 20, 2011, to Aug. 20, 2012. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded was $3.97 in our state at the beginning of the last week, the report stated.

Nationwide, the average price of $3.72 on Aug. 20 was the highest ever for that day in history. AAA expects prices to begin to drop after Labor Day but says record-breaking averages will likely continue into the fall.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
