Power Out For About 5,000 Homes And Businesses In Kenmore/Kirkland Area

PSE says strong winds Monday evening blew a tree down on a transmission line that feeds a substation.

About 5,000 Puget Sound Energy customers in the Kenmore/Kirkland area of Finn Hill were without power Monday evening because of a tree that was blown down by strong winds on a transmission line, said company spokesperson Abigail Elliott.

Crews were estimating that most of the power would be restored by about 9 p.m., she said, adding that the tree hit a line that feeds a substation, increasing the size of the outage.

Harder hit was Kistap County, where another 20,000 PSE customers lost power Monday night, and throughout the company’s service areas, about 30,000 were without electricity.
