VIEWFINDER: Chilly Dip in Lake Washington Brings in Kirkland's 2013

Dozens of brave residents celebrated the turn of the year with Kirkland's traditional Polar Bear Plunge at Marina Park.

Skies were bright blue at Marina Park on Tuesday -- and probaby many lips were as well -- as dozens of hardy souls brought in 2013 with a splash during Kirkland's traditional New Year's Day Polar Bear Plunge.

Perhaps 100 took the plunge, and as many or more stood on shore watching, taking photos and cheering on friends and family. Even Kirkland Mayor Joan McBride took a dip -- very briefly, as she said afterward!

Kirkland Patch was there as well, bundled up and taking photos. Enjoy a look here, and may 2013 find you all happy, healthy -- and warm!

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
