GALLERY: Dry Skies, Dogs & DennyFest

The rain lets up just long enough for the Finn Hill community's annual celebration at O.O. Denny Park.

One of the Kirkland's newest neighborhoods pulled off its annual bash "DennyFest" Sunday under thankfully dry skies at O.O. Denny Park, with a dog parade and contests, chili cook-off, pie competition and live music.

Despite the gray skies, a good crowd showed up, with Kirkland City Council members and candidates, other city dignitaries and plenty of neighbors from the Finn Hill community.

The annual event is sponsored by the Denny Creek Neighborhood Alliance, which is now transitioning to an official as a result of the annexation that took effect June 1.
