Gallery: Perfect Kirkland Market Opener!

Skies were blue, temperatures ideal and Park Lane packed with fresh food, flowers, local produce and smiling, happy faces.

Blue sky, bright flowers, fresh produce and happy people equalled a spectacular opening to the Kirkland Wednesday Market yesterday on Park Lane downtown.

Children of the preschool open the Wednesday market season with songs before city dignitaries and leaders.

The market appeared larger this year with several new vendors, and all the vendors appeared to be doing well -- Park Lane was particularly busy for this year’s opening.

There were fresh flowers galore, early local produce from several Western Washington farms, cheese, honey, fresh salmon, pizza, pastries, gourmet hot dogs and more.

You can get a good idea of what a great opening it was -- check out all the happy faces! -- by browsing our attached photo gallery.

The market is opening every Wednesday, 2-7 p.m. through Oct. 17. Don't forget Kirkland's other outdoors market, the at Juanita Beach, open every Friday 3-7 p.m. through Oct. 5.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
