Studio East's Drowsy Chaperone

  • Where/When: At in Kirkland (11730 118th Ave NE Suite 100) Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: It all begins when a die-hard musical theater fan plays his favorite cast album, a 1928 smash hit called The Drowsy Chaperone. As he listens to the rare cast recording, the show magically comes to life, transforming his apartment into a 1920s manor house. Guests arrive, people tap dance for no reason, gangsters pretend to be pastry chefs, and a pilot invites a group of strangers to accompany her on a trip to Rio. The Drowsy Chaperone affectionately spoofs the silly things that happen in old fashioned musicals, making this a delightful musical for the entire family.
