Mercer Island Pastor/Poet Pens Stanzas Supporting Seahawks

The Rev. Greg Asimakoupoulos wrote this poem in honor of the Seahawks NFL divisional playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome on Sunday, Jan. 13.

It's now the battle of the beaks.
 The Falcons host our Hawks.
And while Atlanta claims top seed,
 young Russell Wilson rocks.

The Georgia Dome will be the scene
where we will foul their nest
and wing our way to victory
 by proving we are best.

This playoff game is for the birds
whose cage is called "The Clink."
Our Hawks are hungry for a win.
In "Coke Town" they will drink!

And so 12th Man, let's don our blue
 awaiting Sunday's score.
This is the year for which we've dreamed.
 Let's help our Seahawks soar!

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
