It’s Thursday and you're looking forward to the weekend, but you’ve got no idea what you’ll do. Kirkland Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-with-work, outta-here time. Check our picks for activities to hit and bars/restaurants/shops to explore.


  • Where/When: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26 at in Kirkland.
  • Why Go: and Corks and Canvas Events have joined forces to help raise money for the Homeward Pet Shelter this Sunday with an Art with Heart Fundraiser. You’ll leave with a beautiful painting of a dog or cat and the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve contributed to a worthy cause.
  • Cost: $45 per person (includes all supplies, instruction and wine tasting)

 

  • Where/When: 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sun, Feb. 26 at the.
  • Why Go: Join the Kirkland Performance Center this Sunday as Doktor Kaboom! takes his audience on an amazing educational tour of the modern scientific method, using humor and comedy to demonstrate spectacular applications of the physical sciences. Whether he is performing for kids, parents, or both, Doktor Kaboom! leaves audiences happier, smarter and cheering for more.
  • Cost: Tickets are $10 for youths, $10 for choice and $12 for prime seats.

 

  • Where/When: 12-5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at in Redmond.
  • Why Go: The Washington Beer Commission invites you to visit some of our state’s many innovative, esteemed, and friendly craft brewers this Saturday. Black Raven Brewing Co's Open House will feature special beers on tap, brewery tours, food and snacks and opportunities to meet the brewers. For more information on the 2012 Washington Beer Open House and a full list a participating breweries visit the Washington Beer Commision website.
  • Cost: Free.

 

  • Where/When: 8-11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24 at in Bellevue.
  • Why Go: Looking for live music this weekend? Visit Cypress this Friday night, they’ll have the Blackberry Bush String Band rocking the house with their high-energy Bluegrass-inspired sound. Not sure what to expect? Check out this Youtube clip of the band in action.
  • Cost: No cover.

 

  • Where/When: 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the .
  • Why Go: Do you have too much chaos at home and in your life? Are you overwhelmed with no idea where or how to get started? Join Certified Professional Organizer Laura Leist this Saturday and learn how to make simple changes that will make a powerful impact on your life. You will leave feeling empowered and ready to take action!
  • Cost: Free.


Seminars at Molbak’s

  • Where/When: 10-11 a.m. and 12-1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at in Woodinville.
  • Why Go: There are two seminars going on at Molbak’s this Saturday. Welcoming Roses into your Garden starts at 10 a.m. and goes over how to successfully incorporate a variety of roses into your mixed beds and landscape. Grow your own Fruit starts at 12 p.m. and discusses how to select the right fruit tree and for the right location and the importance of cross-pollination with a special emphasis on fruit tree favorites: apple, pear, plum and cherry.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
