The Five Guys are bringing their basic but bodacious burgers to Kirkland.

Five Guys Burger and Fries, a Virginia-based chain with more than 800 locations, will open on Monday, March 4, a restaurant at 11220 NE 124th (the former state liquor store) in the West Totem Lake area, near QFC. It will be open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Relatively new to the Seattle area but well-respected elsewhere, Five Guys keeps things simple and affordable. For a little more than $5, you can get a giant cheeseburger with two patties and your choice of 15 toppings, including relish, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, jalapeno peppers and barbecue sauce.

The chain began in Arlington, Va. in 1986, started by a man and his four sons. It has operated a restaurant in Redmond since 2011. See this review of that location from our Redmond Patch site here, which lauded the Five Guys’ “tasty, juicy beef patty...topped with some basic fresh veggies.”
