Memorial Day: What's Closed, What's Open
Lake Washington district schools are closed through Monday.
Memorial Day is Monday, May 27 -- Below is a list of what’s open and what government offices are closed. If you're planning to travel, check out the Washington State Department of Transportation web pages to plan your route. You can expect heavy traffic on Friday and Monday particularly along I-90 Snoqualmie Pass, US 2 Stevens Pass, Interstate 5 near the U.S./Canadian border and I-5 between Olympia and Tacoma.
City of Kirkland offices are closed.
The King County Library System, including the Kirkland and Kingsgate branches are closed.
Lake Washington School District: Closed Monday, classes will resume Tuesday, May 28.
King County government: Closed.
King County Metro: Reduced weekday schedule.
King County Transfer Stations: Open.
State of Washington offices: Closed.
Washington State Ferries: All routes will operate on a normal schedule.
Federal government (including the U.S. Postal Service): Closed
Banks: Many, if not most, will be closed.
Express delivery companies: FedEx and UPS will be open.
Waste Management: Regular recycling and garbage service will occur in most Western Washington areas.
