Annexation Open House at City Hall; Wednesday Market Returns

- The sun rises at 5:16 a.m. and sets at 8:59 p.m.
- Annexation by Kirkland of the Finn Hill, north Juanita and Kingsgate neighborhoods takes effect at 12:01 a.m., adding 33,000 residents to the city for a total population of almost 80,000.
- The Kirkland Wednesday Market opens its 2011 season with a ceremony at 2 p.m. and continuing until 7 p.m. along Park Lane downtown, with vendors offering produce, prepared foods, flowers, vegetable plant starts, arts and crafts.
- The city hosts an annexation open house at from 4-7 p.m., with a welcome by city officials, light refreshments and informational booths by city staff.
