Happy Thanskgiving: What's Open and What's Closed

Grocery stores will remain open, but government offices, banks and postal service will take a break. Metro will be on a Sunday schedule.

Happy Thanksgiving! If you have some last minute items you need for your feast, most grocery stores in Kirkland will be open. But virtually all government offices will be closed.

Here's a roundup.

Grocery stores: The store will be closed for Thanksgiving, but most other grocery stores will be open, some on holiday hours, including the s, (closing at 4 p.m.), the s and (6 a.m.-4 p.m.).

Government: Kirkland and all city offices will be closed, except of course for the police station. County, state and federal offices will also be closed. U.S. mail delivery will resume Friday.

Banks will be closed.

King County Metro:Β Metro Transit service will operate on a Sunday schedule. If a route does not normally run on Sunday, there is no service on Thanksgiving. Sunday fares will be in effect on Metro bus routes on Thanksgiving. The Friday after Thanksgiving buses will be on reduced weekday schedules.

All Metro offices will be closed on Thanksgiving, including the Customer Information Center phone lines. For more information about transit service, visit Metro Online at www.kingcounty.gov/metro.
