Heads Up: Expect Delays on I-405 in Kirkland From 7 pm Saturday to Noon Sunday

Crews working for the Washington Department of Transportation will be shifting lanes and re-striping the roadway as part of the on-going widening and Express Toll Lanes project.

 

Drivers can expect delays this weekend on Interstate 405 in Kirkland from 7 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday crews shift lane and re-stripe the roadway as part of the ongoing work to widen and add express toll lanes to the freeway.

Similar closures are likely for the next several weekends, advises the Washington Department of Transportation WSDOT.

The work will close some northbound lanes as well as ramps at NE 70th and NE 85th.

KIRKLAND – Drivers on northbound Interstate 405 through Kirkland could see some delays as crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close several lanes and ramps to shift lanes and restripe the roadway.

Closure details:

Beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11 crews will begin closing two lanes of northbound I-405 near State Route 520. Three lanes will close from Northeast 70th Street to Northeast 124th Street. All lanes will reopen by noon on Sunday, May 12.

There will also be several ramp closures in the area Saturday night including:

  •  The Northeast 70th Street on-ramp to northbound I-405 from 8 p.m. until 8 a.m.
  • The Northbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 85th Street from 11 p.m. until 10 a.m.
  • The Northbound 85th Street on-ramp to northbound I-405 from 10 p.m. until 9 a.m.

Similar closures are likely to continue for the next several weekends, while crews create work zones for the Bellevue to Lynnwood Widening and Express Toll Lanes project. The work is weather dependent.
