KPC Open House; Herding Cats at the Rover

Things you might want to know today, Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011.

  • This morning’s sunrise is at 6:13 a.m. and tonight’s sunset is at 8:11 p.m.
  • Searching for a good Sunday brunch? Kirkland is chockfull of delicious breakfast eateries. A few we recommend: Trellis in the , serving brunch from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.; from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and at , 10 a.m.  to 3 p.m.
  • If you’re looking for a toe-tapping good time, head on down to the to watch the Herding Cats play their rambunctious '60s and '70s covers. A $5 cover starts at 8 p.m. The Cats rock out at 9.
  • The is holding an open house today from 2-4 p.m. Mingle in the KPC lobby with complimentary eats and drinks, go on a behind-the-scenes tour with the technical director and witness the unveiling of the new concession area. The improved snack bar will feature products from such vendors as Rococo Coffee, Oh! Chocolate and Hale’s Ales, some of which will be available for sampling. The cost? Free.
