Services for Bill Petter Set for April 21 in Bothell

The well-known Kirkland businessman, philanthropist and avid walker would have been 80 that day.

A memorial service for William β€œBill” Petter will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at the Northshore Baptist Church in Bothell. Petter, a well-known Kirkland businessman and philanthropist, died March 21. He would have turned 80 on April 21.

Petter was a two-time president of the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce and longtime owner of Bel-Kirk Motors downtown at Central Way and Market. He also raised thousands of dollars for the March of Dimes and was a strong supporter of the Kirkland Interfaith Transitions in Housing (KITH).

In recent years he was best known as an avid walker, happily waving to all passersby on his morning jaunts along Lake Washington Boulevard.

Petter participated in the March of Dimes’ Walk America for 39 straight years.

His sons, David and Terry Petter, his daughter, Donna Moreland, and the rest of the family ask that remembrances be made to the March of Dimes (in support of walker Bill Petter/Team BP21), 1904 Third Ave. #230, Seattle, WA 98101; KITH at 125 State St. S., Kirkland WA 98033, or the Kirkland Kiwanis Foundation at 525 Kirkland Way, Kirkland, WA 98033.

The Northshore Baptist Church is at 10301 NE 145th St. in Bothell.

Team BP21 will walk in honor of Bill Petter in the March of Dimes Walk America at 9 a.m. April 30 at the Seattle Center.
