Teriyaki Madness in Houghton Wins the First Patch 'Best of Kirkland' Poll

The popular teriyaki spot since 1990 ran away with our poll, earning 14 of 36 votes.

Drum roll please! Patch is pleased to announce the winner of its first-ever Best of Kirkland poll, a series launched last week with the question: What's the best teriyaki spot in Kirkland?

And the answer is: in Houghton, a Kirkland favorite since 1990. Madness scored 14 out of 36 votes, far and away the winner. Second was Rose Hill's Nasai with six votes, followed by in the Bridle Trails area with four and and , each with three.

Teriyaki Madness specializes in char-grilled chicken and beef, but also offers pork, salmon and shrimp on its large menu, which includes skewers, Yakisoba, Gyoza, combos, salads and stir-fry.

So congratulations Teriyaki Madness, fans and voters!

And on with the second in our series of 12 Best of Kirkland polls: top preschools in Kirkland. Nothing is more important than children, so we expect quite a competition, especially considering that there might be two dozen or more preschools in town. A story announcing the new poll will post here at 5 a.m. on Monday.

We've already begun compiling our list of preschools for the poll, but would gladly accept and appreciate suggestions and nominations. Please reply here with a comment, or email the editor, Greg.Johnston@Patch.com, or let us know on Facebook.

Thanks to all who have participated so far! After all, Patch is not a one-way street. Rather, Patch is inclusive and interactive, expecting and encouraging all to comment, review and post announcements, as well as post events on our calendar.

Please join the conversation!

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
