  • Why Go: This three-day festival brings a regional showcase of art, food and wine to Kirkland's waterfront. The festival's events and activities include artist showrooms, a boat show, a dog modeling contest, and a tasting garden with grilling demonstrations, wine tasting and even live music.
  • Cost: Tickets range between $15 and $30. Save some money by ordering your tickets in advance here.

Artists Reception -- "Inventing an Illusive Space"

  • When/Where: 6-8:30 p.m. Friday, .
  • Why Go: Meet the artists featured -- Eric Elliott, Preston Graves, Grant Hottle, Michael Lorefice, Kimberly Trowbridge -- in the exhibit Inventing Illusive Space, which engages the contemporary issues of space, the studio and representation through the dexterity of the painted still life form. 
  • Cost: Free.

 

2011 Fifa Women's World Cup

  • Where/When: 11 a.m. Sunday, July 17 at .
  • Why Go: The U.S. is on a roll and now travel to Frankfurt to take on Japan in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Final. Sluggers will be showing the game and has several TV's scattered throughout the bar so even if you don't get the best seat in the house, you're sure to have a decent view. Go USA!
  • Cost: No cover.

  • Why Go: Got a garage full stuff that the trash man won't take away? Bring them to the Congregational Church and they'll take it all of your hands. Anything with a plug will be accepted. That includes appliances of any size, TV’s, car batteries, computer batteries, medical equipment, ink toner & cartridges, scrap metal, bikes, tools, BBQs, lawn mowers, metal furniture, exercise equipment, and more.
  • Cost: Free. Cash donations will be gladly accepted.


Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

  • Where/When: Opens on Friday, July 15 at the .
  • Why Go: For all the Harry Potter fans out there, you've probably been counting down the days for this premiere. So treat yourself, and watch this highly anticipated sequel to the final installment of the series in style at the Ipic Theater. The theater offers reclining chairs, pillows and blankets, and in-cinema food and beverage service for the first 20 minutes of each show. The theater also has a restaurant and bar with menus just as luxurious.
  • Cost: Tickets at at Ipic range from $15 to $27. Prices very depending on if you choose a 3d or 2d showing as well as premium or premium plus seating.

  • Why Go: Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and come enjoy the summer with Redmond's Arts in the Park. The event will feature two entertaining performances by Leroy Bell and Doctor Funk followed by a fireworks finale!   • Where/When: Doors open at 4 p.m., fights start at 6 p.m. on Sat, July 16 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.
  • Why Go: Looking to get a little more excitement out of your weekend? You may want to check out the MMA, Muay Thai and Kickboxing fights going on at Battle in the Barn this Saturday in Monroe.  Not sure what to expect at Battle in the Barn?
