  • Where/When: 6 p.m. Fri, April 15 at the .
  • Why Go: If you've never been to the Kirkland Arts Center, this Friday would be the time to go. The unique Three-Dimensional Line exhibit will feature eleven talented artists who's works explore the creation of three-dimensional form with volume, dimension, scale, emotion and illusion. Can't make the opening reception on Friday? No worries, the exihibit will run through the end of May.

  • Where/When: 9 p.m. Fri, April 15 at the .
  • Why Go: If free live music is what you're after this weekend, you wont have to travel very far to see it. The Crying Spell will be performing at the Yuppie Pawn in Totem Lake this Friday. This is a great opportunity to see a big name band in a very intimate venue. Never heard of them? Check out this Crying Spell music video to get an idea of what you're in for.

  • Where/When: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sat, April 16 at the Houghton Park & Ride in Kirkland (NE 70th & 116th NE).
  • Why Go:  If your household recently went through its annual spring cleaning marathon, this event might be just what you need to finally get the junk out the door. Load up all the items that the trashman wouldn't haul away and bring it to the Houghton Park & Ride for a safe and clean disposal.
  • Pricing: Most items will be taken without any fee's. Please check out the event's flyer for more details regarding fee's and which items will, and won't be accepted.

  • Where/When: 7:45 a.m. on Sun, April 17 at Bellevue's .
  • Why Go: The Bellevue 10k run is back and just in time to help you get in that swim suit shape you need for Summer. If the 10K seems too extreme, try the 5k run/walk. There's also a half mile Kids' Dash available for kids 10 years old and younger. Not too stoked about getting your run on this Sunday? This 2011 Bellevue 10K promo might help you get motivated.
  • Pricing: Pre-registration for 10k/5k: $30; Registration after April 15 & day of race: $35; Kids dash/10 and under: $10.


  • Where/When: 2 p.m. Sun, April 17 at the .
  • Why Go: If the Arbor/Earth Day Festival piqued your interest in sustainable food, be sure to check out this showing of Good Food at the Kirkland Teen Center. After the film, stay for a Q&A with the film's producer. Not too sure what to expect from Good Food? Check out the film's trailer.
  • Cost: Admission is free, with fresh fruits, vegetables and cheese being served. Fairly-traded coffee will be provided. Please bring your own cup to avoid waste.
