Juanita Football Season Opener Vs. Redmond

  • When/Where: 7 p.m. Friday at , 10601 132nd Ave. NE in Kirkland
  • Why Go: Are you ready for some football? Don't miss your first chance to cheer on the Rebels as they take on 3A Redmond on home turf. 
  • Pricing: $6 for adults; $4 for students with ASB card.

Kid's Day at the Juanita Friday Market

  • Where/When: At , 9703 NE Juanita Drive, 3-7 p.m.
  • Why Go: School starts next week, so give the kids a final summer fling at the market, featuring free crafts and games, a puppet show and music -- Bonnie Birch from 3-5 p.m. and Marc Antel 5-7 p.m. In addition, the local growing season is near its peak, so the adults will find plenty of fruits, vegetables, berries and the usual assortment of flowers and prepared food.
  • Pricing: Admission is free.

 

2011 Bumbershoot: Seattle’s Music and Arts Festival

  • Where/When:  Saturday through Labor Day,  Sept. 3-5 at Seattle Center 
  • Why Go: Established in 1971, Bumbershoot takes place every year over Labor Day weekend and stretches across the 74-acre Seattle Center beneath the city’s iconic Space Needle. Bumbershoot programs 20 unique indoor and outdoor venues, allowing for a diverse array of arts including live music, comedy, theatre, dance, film, urban crafts, and literary and visual arts.   • Pricing: Tickets $29 to $475

 

107.7 The End Summer Camp '11

  • Where/When: 2 p.m. Friday at 
  • Why Go: Feeling like you didn't get enough outdoor music this summer? 107.7 The End's "Summer Camp" concert this Friday is a budget-friendly alternative to the full-fledged concert festival with a lineup of 10 artists for just $20. Billed as a "music discovery" event, the day-long show features established acts like Portland's Portugal, The Man, in addition to up-and-comers like Indie pop-rock band The Givers.
  • Cost: $20 (before fees). Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.


Evergreen State Fair

  • When/Where: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds on Highway 2 in Monroe
  • Why Go: There's only a few days left to check out this year's Evergreen State Fair, which offers a little something for everyone. The kids will love the farm animals and carnival rides while adults can take in live music, arts and crafts vendors, and racing action on the speedway. 
  • Pricing: Base admission is $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and youth. Adults who are 90 or older and kids 5 and younger are free. Special discounted rates are available on Labor Day. Click here for more pricing details.
