The Heathman Hotel Introduces Afternoon Tea to “Create
New Traditions”

KIRKLAND, Wash. (Oct. 15, 2013) – The Heathman Hotel in Kirkland along with Trellis Executive Chef Brian Scheehser and Pastry Chef
Sandra Watson together introduce an English-inspired afternoon tea service launching
Thursday, Oct. 24 continuing throughout the holiday season and into early 2014. The afternoon tea offers guests
the opportunity to indulge in the splendor of the menu, which emphasizes local
ingredients and flavors. Choose one of
nine quality loose leaf teas from Mighty Leaf Tea Company, including Organic English Breakfast Tea, Organic Earl
Grey, Jasmine Downy Pearls, and Green Tea Tropical.
“From
traditional scones to sweets to savory tea sandwiches, our new afternoon tea
includes something to entice any tea lover,” said Scheehser.
The Heathman
Hotel’s afternoon tea menu includes a variety of sweet and savory items, such
as fresh baked Madeleines, Harissa Deviled Eggs, and Trellis’ signature scones,
to name a few.
“Enjoying afternoon tea has
become a holiday tradition in many families,” said The Heathman Hotel’s General
Manager Troy Longwith. “We are excited
to launch an afternoon tea on the eastside and hope families and friends can
create a new tradition not only during the holidays but throughout the late
fall and winter season.”
Afternoon tea will be served in
the Heathman Hotel Lobby and Cascade Room Thursday- Sunday, 12 – 4 p.m., Oct.
24 through Feb. 16, 2014. Tea service is $29 per person and $19 for children 12
and under.
