Master gardener and mason bee farmer Missy Anderson will teach children (and parents!) about friendly mason bees and lead us in a related craft to take home. Non-stinging orchard mason bees are native to the Pacific Northwest and are important for pollinating flowers and vegetables in the early spring. We’ll learn to look for mason bees in our gardens and how to provide the habitat they need to do their busy work in our yards every year. A great way to get the kids interested in the outdoors and gardening.
Event is free and open to the public, RSVP appreciated (firstname.lastname@example.org) to insure enough craft materials available. Sponsored by the Eastside Mothers Club, www.eastsidemothersclub.com.
