Meaningful Movies in Kirkland

Lost in Detention, 2011, 54 minutes - www.northlakeuu.org/movies

You may have seen this Frontline episode about the Obama administration's get-tough immigration policy when it was first broadcast almost two years ago.  But it's worth a second look, and the topic is timely: as of August 11 the King County Council has yet to vote on a proposal to have the Sheriff and the King County Jail stop honoring "immigration hold requests" from ICE (US Immigration Control Enforcement) for individuals in custody.
Discussion to follow the film.
This Friday: free ice cream before the screening.
