Film: After Tiller (85 minutes, Lana Wilson and Martha Shane, 2013)

In 2009 Dr. George Tiller, a gynecologist who performed late-term abortions, was assassinated while attending a service at his Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas. It surprised filmmaker Lana Wilson that the No. 1 target of the anti-abortion movement was a deeply religious Christian. She and co-director Martha Shane decided to create a film that, instead of focusing in Dr. Tiller, follows the practices of the only four doctors in the US who still openly perform late-term abortions. The doctors, their patients, protestors, medical staff, and their family and friends put human faces on a complicated and polarizing issue.
Discussion of the film follows screening.
