Kirkland Enviro Services Launches Green Blog

Members of the city of Kirkland's Storm and Surface Water and Solid Waste Divisions are now posting on the web about things such as reducing office waste, rain gardens and keeping waterways clean.

Kirkland's Environmental Services crew has taken to the web to spread its green message, launching a blog by members of the city’s Storm and Surface Water and Solid Waste Divisions.

The blog was created in April, and posts are on subjects of sustainability. Recent posts have been on reducing waste in the office, rain gardens -- they help slow runoff -- Puget Sound Month and energy efficiency in the home.

Marie Stake, city of Kirkland spokeswoman, said the environmental blog is the only one by the city so far, but that blogs from other departments could be added in the future.
