A Rain Garden Plant Sale will kick off the annual opening of the Kruckeberg Botanic Garden’s MsK Rare and Native Plant Nursery March 1-3 in Richmond Beach.
The botanic garden itself is open year-round Friday through Sunday, but the nursery opens annually on March 1.
“That’s when all of the plants start turning over, and people start thinking about gardening again,” said Brianne Zorn, executive director of the garden.
The MsK Nursery sustains the legacy of garden co-founder and renowned horticulturist Mareen Kruckeberg, the late wife of co-founder Dr. Arthur Kruckeberg, the highly regarded native plant botanist and University of Washington professor emeritus. The couple founded the garden in 1958 in Shoreline.
The sale will feature discounts on rain garden plants throughout the nursery and is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday, March 1-3.
