Cross Kirkland Corridor Cleanup Commences

This Saturday, join volunteers to help spruce up a section of the Cross Kirkland Corridor and make it walker friendly.

On Saturday, September 8th, join Kudos Kirkland, the Highlands Neighborhood and Public Works to kick off the City of Kirkland's new "Adopt-a-Trail" program. Help spruce up a three-quarter mile section of the new Cross Kirkland Corridor by picking up litter, clipping vegetation, and spreading gravel.

The City of Kirkland purchased 5.75 miles of the old Burlington Northern Railroad corridor in March, 2012, and is actively working on a master plan and funding for a mixed use trail. Until these are in place, the city is soliciting citizen help to maintain the corridor. If your organization is interested in adopting a quarter mile section, see the links below for more information.

Kickoff event:

Saturday, September 8
10 am to noon
Meet at the intersection of NE 87th St and 112th Ave NE
Garbage bags, safety vests, and some tools provided
Bring your own clippers and gloves
Refreshments provided
