Kirkland Summer Concerts Win "Best of 2012" Award from Seattle Magazine

Kirkland's beloved waterfront concerts win a Seattle Magazine "Best of 2012" award.

The Kirkland Summer Concerts at Marina Park are proud to announce that they are the recipient of Seattle Magazine's Best of 2012 Reader's Choice award for "Best Live Music Venue/Nightlife in Kirkland." The concert committee would like to thank the mystery person who nominated the concerts, and everyone who voted for them. All Best of 2012 winners will be listed on the Seattle Magazine website for an entire year, starting in January.

This past summer marked 35 years of free, community concerts at Marina Park. For many years they were organized by the City of Kirkland, but the concerts are now a mostly volunteer effort under the Kirkland Downtown Association.

The lineup for 2013 will be announced soon. The Thursday evening concerts will feature a variety of talented blues, swing, classic rock, latin, and reggae bands.

The Tuesday morning children's concerts will move to Juanita Beach Park, which has ample onsite parking, a large beach and playground, and easy access to Juanita Village.

The concerts are paid for entirely through sponsorships and donations. Sponsors are needed to support the 2013 series. Sponsors receive valuable print and media publicity, and the opportunity to set up a table at the events. For more information about sponsorships or the concerts themselves, go to KirklandSummerConcerts.org.
