Red Flag Warning Issued for Kirkland, Puget Sound Region

Critical fire conditions are likely from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Red Flag Warning for most of Western Washington, including Kirkland, from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential.

In Kirkland, the forecast Thursday is for sunny skies and a high of 81 degrees. No rain is in the forecast through the weekend.
