Overlake Cadet Completes Solo Flight

Local cadet becomes the second to fly solo this year.

Congratulations to our own C/CMSgt Geoffrey "Blower" Davis of Duvall, WA who went solo in a glider on Saturday. This accomplishment earns him a set of CAP Glider Solo Wings and marks the completion of the first major milestone in a student pilot's career.

Chief Davis is an advanced glider student at Desert Eagle IX Flight Encampment, and the assistant flight sergeant for Tango Flight at Overlake Composite Squadron. He is pictured here receiving a traditional 'dunking' from his fellow pilots. Outstanding work, Chief Davis!

The Civil Air Patrol cadet program is open to youth age 12 – 17.  FAA rules allow cadets to begin glider pilot training at age 14.

Overlake Squadron meets Tuesdays 6:45 – 9:00pm at the ARNG Redmond Armory 17230 NE 95th Street, Redmond WA.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
