Renaissaince Faire Fashion Slideshow

The Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire brings out the finest in fashion - from faery wings to parasols and armor.

OK let's be honest here - renaissance fairs aren't just about the jousting, theater shows and oversized turkey legs -- what it really comes down to is the fashion.

The , which continues today and tomorrow, Aug. 18-19, 10 a.m.- 7p.m., is like stepping into medieval wonderland and it wouldn't be possible without hundreds of characters walking around to play the part. Attendees invested countless hours of work into showing off some of the most elaborate costumes I have ever seen.

Frankly, I was just as impressed with the outfits as I was with the grace of their wearers - temperatures reached 90 on the Faire's opening day, but you couldn't tell in the crowd swells of petticoats and leather.

I'm taking a cue from my favorite Bravo TV fashion commentators with a slideshow of some of the best garb I spotted.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
