Bomb Squad Finds Big Firework in Stolen Car

Kirkland Police called in the Bellevue Police Department bomb squad to check out a suspicious item in a car parked on Finn Hill.

 

A bomb squad from the Bellevue Police Department, called in to assist Kirkland Police, found a large firework in a stolen vehicle parked on Finn Hill Wednesday evening.

Kirkland Police Department spokesman Lt. Mike Murray said the incident occurred Wednesday evening at about 7:30 near the intersection of 86th Place NE and NE 127th Street, near the top of Finn Hill, after a suspicious item was reported.

"We called in Bellevue's bomb squad, but it was only a large firework found in the back seat of a stolen vehicle," he said.

Bellevue Police were called because that department maintains a full bomb squad.

The stolen vehicle was towed away and impounded, and Murray said detectives were in the process of obtaining a search warrant to go through it.
