Death of Woman Investigated by Homicide Division

Kirkland homicide investigators Thursday were working to determine the cause of death of a woman found at a home earlier this week.

The woman's death was reported about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 9800 block of NE 130th Place, according to Kirkland police Lt. Mike Murray.

A resident at the address contacted police after finding the 28-year-old woman dead in a bedroom at the home, police said.

Detectives called to the scene served a search warrant on the home to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office sent an investigator to the scene to assist in the case.  A finding as to the cause and manner of death is still pending.

"The investigation at this time is being pursued by investigators as a potential homicide," Murray wrote in a news release.

This death investigation is being conducted by Kirkland Police Department Detectives and Washington State Police Crime Lab personnel.
