UPDATE, 2 p.m., Nov. 29: A judge in Tampa, Fla., released former Seattle Seahawks and University of Washington football player Jerramy Stevens Thursday after he was taken into custody Wednesday for a parole violation related to his arrest in Kirkland earlier this month. The Tampa Tribune reported that the Hillsborough County judge released Stevens on his own recognizance, noting that a judge in Kirkland ruled he was arrested without sufficient evidence on Nov. 12 for allegedly assaulting his then-fiance, Hope Solo. Stevens has not been charged in the Kirkland case but remains under investigation by Kirkland police. Stevens is on probation in Hillsborough County for a 2010 marijuana possession charge. He might still face a probation violation hearing there.

Former Seattle Seahawks and Husky football player Jerramy Stevens--under investigation by Kirkland police for an alleged assault of soccer player Hope Solo, who is now his wife--was arrested in Florida on Wednesday for investigation of violating his probation, the Seattle Times is reporting.
Stevens was picked up by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at his Tampa home at 10 a.m., according to a police report. KING5 News reported that the arrest in Florida was related to the Kirkland arrest on Nov. 12
The Times reports that Stevens was on probation for a marijuana possession charge in 2010, when he was playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. See the full Times story here.
Stevens was arrested in Kirkland for allegedly striking Solo, a Summer Olympics gold medalist and then his fiance, during a disturbance at her Finn Hill home in in the early morning of Nov. 12. He was released the next day by a Kirkland Municipal Court judge, who said he found no evidence of an assault. Read a previous Kirkland Patch story about that here.
Stevens and Solo were married later the day of his release.
The Kirkland case remains under investigation, said Kirkland Police Department spokesman Lt. Mike Murray. “There should be a decision soon, but I haven’t heard anything yet,” he said.
The Times reported that Stevens had permission from Florida corrections authorities to travel to Washington earlier this month. It also reported that Solo spoke to the media Tuesday after a workout in Portland with the U.S.national team. "I'm happy. I'm happily married,” she said in an Associated Press story carried by the Times. “I would never stand for domestic violence. I've never been hit in my life."
