'Jimmy Buffett' Bank Robbery Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

Richard Curtis Marsh, 44, is accused of three bank holdups and police say he is a suspect in several more since September, including one in Kirkland and one in Bellevue.

Richard Curtis Marsh, 44, accused of holding up three banks and suspected of several more -- including in Kirkland and Bellevue -- has pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of attempted robbery.

From Pacific, Marsh is accused of being the so-called “Jimmy Buffett bandit,” because the suspect sometimes wore tropical style shirts during robberies in Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Covington and Lacey since last September. According to Seattle police, he was arrested Jan. 25 after a security guard at a South Lake Union Bank apparently knocked an air soft pellet pistol from his hands and subdued him until officers arrived.

Marsh pleaded not guilty to the charges on Monday in King County Superior Court. He remains in the King County Jail in Seattle, with bail set at $600,000. His next court appearance is Feb. 25 for a case-setting hearing, a procedural step during which the defense seeks to learn about evidence against a suspect and occasionally asks for a plea date to be set.

Although he has only been charged in three bank robberies, police say he is suspected of at least six others, including on Dec. 19 at the Juanita Wells Fargo at 9750 NE 117th Lane in Kirkland and Nov 11 at the US Bank in Bellevue at 4040 Factoria Blvd SE.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
