King County Detectives Arrest Man in Kirkland for 2006 Murder of Wife

Martin David Pietz, 34, was arrested Wednesday at the Kirkland Bank where he works for the murder in Lynnwood of Nicole Pietz

 

Detectives with the King County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit on Wednesday arrested Martin David Pietz, 34, for the 2006 murder of his wife Nicole Theresa Pietz of Lynnwood.

He was arrested outside of his work place in Kirkland, reportedly the Chase Bank at 215 Kirkland Ave.

Nicole was reported missing to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office on January 29, 2006.

On February 6, 2006, Nicole Pietz’s body was recovered in a wooded area near 1010 South 144th St. in the city of Burien. The victim’s car which had been missing was recovered in a parking lot in the area of 936 NE 42nd Street in Seattle on February 22, 2006.

After a long and thorough investigation detectives arrested Pietz and booked him into the King County Jail for investigation of second degree murder.

According to King County charging documents, there is reasonable cause to believe Nicole Pietz was beaten and strangled at her condo in January of 2006.
