Jan. 7-17: KPD Investigates Burglary, Theft and High School Assault

Officers also deal with domestic violence and drug cases

The following are selected reports by the Kirkland Police Department from Jan. 7-17.

Jan. 7

Police took a report at noon from a 44-year-old resident on NE 92nd Street who reported several items missing that she believed had been stolen from her house. The items included a cell phone, a bottle of prescription amphetamines, a wallet containing $6o and identification, a silver/pearl ring, gold and ruby earrings, and an IPod device.

Jan. 8

A 35-year-old white female was arrested in the evening for assault after an anonymous party reported a domestic dispute at a residence on NE 116th Street. The woman reportedly struck her 44-year-old husband with a tree branch, causing visible but minor injuries.

A 48-year-old white w0man was arrested in the early morning at a residence on NE 120th Street after reportedly hitting her 48-year-old husband and throwing a cell phone at him.

Two white males aged 25 were arrested outside Tiki Joe’s bar downtown at about 1:30 a.m. after an officer observed them fighting. One was from Lake Stevens and the other from Sammamish. Both were booked and cited for disorderly conduct.

Jan. 9

Two white females ages 14 and 18 and three white males ages 17, 17 and 20 were taken into custody around noon on suspicion of burglary, malicious mischief and possession of marijuana at a residence on NE 130th Lane. A neighbor called to report several individuals entering and leaving a vacant townhouse, and indentified the five arrested. Two GPS units were confiscated, as well as a small amount of marijuana and glass pipes.

Jan. 12

A 19-year-old male was arrested for harassment and assault at about noon after allegedly threatening to stab a 17-year-old white female and assaulting her in a hallway. A folding knife was confiscated as evidence.

Jan. 13

A 53-year-old Redmond resident was arrested during a traffic stop on 132nd Avenue Northeast for possession of suspected methadone without a prescription. The officer confiscated two plastic containers with 91 grams of the substance.

A 17-year-old Kirkland resident was arrested just after 4 p.m. at the Spinney Homestead Park on NE 100th Street for possession of suspected heroin with intent to sell and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Jan. 15

A 34-year-old Asian/Pacific Islander male was arrested for third-degree theft as he was leaving the store on Rose Hill at about 6:30 p.m. He had allegedly stolen two computer drives valued at $119 each. The property was returned to the store and the suspect was cited and released.

Jan. 17

A 14-year-old white female was arrested at a residence on 14th Place at about 2 a.m. for being intoxicated while on house arrest. Her blood alcohol level tested at .070.
