Kirkland Police Investigate Pistol-Brandishing, Domestic Violence and Burglary

The following are selected reports from the Kirkland Police Department from Feb. 4 to Feb. 14.

Feb. 4

  • A 50-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for suspicion of assault in a parking lot on the 8500 block of 122nd Avenue Northeast on Rose Hill after three witnesses saw him and his 40-year-old girlfriend exchange multiple blows to the face. The man was determined to be the primary aggressor.

  • A 43-year-old man from Flagstaff, Ariz., was arrested on multiple weapons charges in the 6000 block of 126th Avenue Northeast on Rose Hill after allegedly brandishing a loaded pistol at two Kirkland men, ages 43 and 49. Police took as evidence a Colt 1911 Gold Cup National Match pistol. The Arizona man allegedly did not have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
  • Police forced open the locked bedroom door of a 23-year-old Kirkland man at a residence in the 12000 block of Northeast 62nd Street on South Rose Hill and arrested him after two females, ages 24 and 25, reported he had assaulted them. Police helped the women request a temporary no-contact order and took the man into custody on suspicion of assault.

Feb. 10

  • Police arrested a 27-year-old Seattle man on a criminal trespass warrant from Seattle police after he and his 24-year-old girlfriend were reported arguing heatedly in the parking lot of a gas station on Northeast 124th Street in the Totem Lake area. The argument reportedly spilled into the adjacent parking of the vacant former Joe’s store, where police contacted the couple and determined the argument was verbal only, but also discovered the outstanding warrant.

Feb. 11

  • Police investigated a burglary at the home of a 44-year-old woman who reported her home on 118th Place Northeast in the Highlands Neighborhood was broken into some time between 7 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. Missing were several thousand dollars worth of jewelry and electronics, including a flat-screen TV, a MacBook computer, DVD player, video camera and a one-carat diamond necklace.

Feb. 14

  • A 47-year-old Everett man and two women, ages 29 and 36, from Everett and Lynnwood respectively, were arrested for outstanding warrants after police were called to an 85th Street gas station on Rose Hill about an unwanted vehicle in the parking lot. The man had a felony warrant out for drug possession, and the women had misdemeanor warrants out for drug paraphernalia, possession of a dangerous knife and fourth-degree assault.
