Kirkland SWAT Team Raids Finn Hill 'Problem House,' Three Arrested

Kirkland police served a search warrant on the house Tuesday night after a cell phone dropped by a suspect led back to the residence. Three people were arrested for suspicion of drug use or sales, burglary and fraud.

The Kirkland police SWAT team served a search warrant on a “known problem house” on Finn Hill Monday night, arresting three people for investigation of a variety of charges, including drugs, burglary and fraud.

The warrant was served at about 9:30 p.m. at a house in the 8200 block of NE 142nd Street that police had been monitoring with the help of neighbors for months, said Kirkland Police Department spokesman Lt. Mike Murray.

“Our patrol guys have been watching as much as they can for months, in fact about a year, the comings and goings in this house,” he said. “It’s a known problem house -- drugs, burglary, fraud, the whole gambit.”

A break in the case came when a suspect in a recent burglary dropped his phone. “We pinged it back to this problem house,” said Murray.

Seven people were in the house at the time of the search, and at least three were arrested.

More details were not available early Tuesday morning, but Murray said a press release with more information was being prepared.

He credited neighbors near the house for helping police.

“Our patrol officers have been getting a lot of cooperation from neighbors, which made it easier for us,” he said. “It’s been an awesome collaborative effort, although we know it didn’t happen fast enough for the neighbors.”
