"Kirkland Vice" Busts Johns, Prostitute, & Man Fires Glock through Apartment Wall: KPD Blotter

The following case summaries are selected from Kirkland Police reports for July 20-29. Where an arrest is noted, it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, July 20

DUI: A 46-year-old Kirkland man was booked on suspicion of DUI after speeding through a red light in front of two Kirkland Police officers. The officers had to wait for the speeding vehicle to pass through the red light before they could continue through their green light. At the Kirkland jail, his Breathalyzer results were .231 and .228.

Don’t take on bar staff: A 32-year-old Everett man was given the boot from the Juanita Pub for a year after getting into several confrontations with bar staff.

DJ’s wallet stolen: A 22-year-old DJ from Everett had his wallet stolen while on a gig at 105 Lake St. in Kirkland. Police had no leads on a suspect.

Friday, July 26

Fired employee threatens business owner: Police responded to a report of harassment by a former employee of a Kirkland business. After being fired, the ex-employee told the business owner he had a key to the business and knew where the owner and his family live. Police were unable to contact the ex-employee to issue a trespass notice.

Vice Arrest: A 27-year-old Lynnwood man was arrested after leaving a known prostitute’s motel room. He was stopped for a traffic violation, and during the stop admitted to having paid for a sex act.

 

Monday, July 29

Prostitution bust at Motel 6: Kirkland Police arrested a suspected prostitute and client at Motel 6 in Kirkland. The 45-year-old Kirkland man had responded to an ad on backpage.com.

Gun fired in apartment building: A 36-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for reckless endangerment after accidentally firing a round from his Glock 9mm handgun into a neighbor’s apartment at around 7:15 a.m. at a complex on the 12700 block of NE 120th Street. According to police, the man thought the gun was unloaded and planned to clean it. No one was injured, but the kitchen cabinet in the neighbor’s apartment was damaged.
