Kirkland Woman Hit and Killed Along Highway 101 in Oregon

Oregon State Police say Connie Marie Peterman, 61, reportedly jumped into traffic south of Cannon Beach.

A Kirkland woman was killed along U.S. 101 on the Oregon Coast Wednesday afternoon after reportedly jumping into traffic, according to the Oregon State Police.

Connie Marie Peterman, 61, was hit by a car driven by a 29-year-old Cannon Beach man at about 1:156 p.m. Wednesday at milepost 34, near Arch Cape south of Cannon Beach.

An investigation continues, but according to Sgt. Andrew Merila, the Cannon Beach man was northbound on Highway 101 when Peterman, reportedly walking along the shoulder, jumped into the traffic lane. She was declared dead at the scene.

A press release by the Oregon State Police said she had been staying with a relative in the area, and that her family had been notified. The driver was not injured.

Highway 101 was closed about 90 minutes before one lane was open for traffic. All lanes were open about 30 minutes later.

Hopelink's actions mandating Section 8 housing went too far. Sorry, you are off our list ofRead More organizations to support even though the support before was robust. City council listened to organized carpetbaggers and not the citizens they are sworn to represent. All that can be replaced need to go at the next election Hopelink needs to find folks to contribute who have not been done wrong by this organization.
