KPD Blotter: Couple Arrested Having Sex in Car

Other cases include a Rose Hill woman arrested for assault in a road rage incident, a mail theft and more burglaries.

 

The following are selected reports from the Kirkland Police Department for the period of May 11-16. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

May 11

  • Police arrested on assault charges a 48-year-old Rose Hill woman in a road rage incident after she followed home a 50-year-old woman who lived nearby on 126th Avenue and scratched her on the neck by reaching into the car window. A neighbor, a 36-year-old man, witnessed the incident at about 4 p.m.
  • A burglar ransacked a house on NE 64th Street in the Lakeview neighborhood and stole a jewelry box containing a diamond-sapphire ring, diamond tennis bracelet and other jewelry after entering the unsecured residence at about 10:30 p.m. The victim was a 49-year-old woman.
  • Someone pried open a locking mailbox and stole mail, also entering neighboring mailboxes, at a residence on Rose Hill’s 128th Avenue NE. It happened the night of May 9-10, and the victim was a 45-year-old man.



May 12

  • A 30-year-old man was punched in the face and robbed of a 16-ounce can of beer while walking home at about 2:25 a.m. to his residence on 100th Ave in north Juanita. He had encountered a group of five or six males, but could provide only limited suspect information and police had no leads.


May 13

  • A 43-year-old woman returned from vacation to find her apartment on 100th Ave in Juanita had been broken into. The report listed nothing missing, however, and no suspects. The apartment was forced open sometime between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. May 12-13.

  • Someone stole about $800 worth of tools in two boxes from the garage of a 78-year-old male resident on 133rd Avenue in the Kingstate area. The garage door had been left open on the night of May 11-12. There were no suspects.
  • Police observed a 41-year-old Kenmore man and an 18-year-old Snohomish woman having sex inside a car in public view in the south Totem Lake area, and arrested them on lewd conduct charges. The man was also arrested on a charge of furnishing liquor to a minor, and the woman on a minor in possession charge. The couple was caught at 2:45 a.m. in the 12500 block of NE 116th.
  • Police arrested a 41-year-old man, no residence listed, on a misdemeanor warrant from Fife after he was reported selling magazines door-to-door in the Bridle Trails area of Rose Hill. The arrest took place at about 5:30 p.m. in the 121000 block of NE 67th Street.
  • A 32-inch LCD television was stolen from a room at the Carlton Inn on NE 116th Street in the south Totem Lake area between 4-5 p.m. on May 10. Police were awaiting a serial number and surveillance video.


May 16

  • A 59-year-old Totem Lake area resident told police he wired money in mid-April to a man in Orlando, Fla., for a copy machine he wanted to buy but never got the machine. The amount he sent was not disclosed in the report, but he did provide to police a name and address.
