KPD Blotter: Hundreds of Oxycodone, Methadone Pills Reported Stolen From Finn Hill Home

Other cases included two men arrested for slashing tires, a woman shoplifting a baby blanket and a burglary.

The following are selected reports from the Kirkland Police Department for the period of Dec. 2-7.

Dec. 2

  • Police arrested two men just after midnight in the 11900 block of 93rd Lane NE in Juanita when an officer discovered them leaving an area near a Ford Mustang outside an apartment complex. They apparently were attempting to set off the car’s alarm, and the officer found two of its tires had been punctured and its paint scratched. A butcher knife was found nearby. A 30-year-old witness had called police and told them he had seen the men crouching around they car. They were taken to the police station on suspicion of malicious mischief. The report did not list their ages or where they lived.


Dec. 4

  • The storage unit rented by a 57-year-old Kirkland man in the 12200 bock of NE 124th Street in the Totem Lake area was broken into some time in late November. He told police that he lost two pairs of skis, ski poles and a Russian MIG fighter pilot helmet. The padlock on the door of the unit was destroyed.

  • Someone stole an unspecified amount of money from the cash drawer and safe of a business in the 13100 block of Totem Lake Boulevard sometime between Nov. 30 and Dec. 2, store staff told police.
  • A 58-year-old man who lives in the 1310 block of 111th Place NE in the Kingsgate area told police that somebody on Dec. 3 stole a coin collection, DVDs and a state food benefits card from a nearby garage where they had been stored. The man told police he suspected a certain individual, and that the card had been used at the Totem Lake QFC. Police checked surveillance video at the store, to no avail.
  • A house on the 9600 block of NE 136th Street in the Finn Hill/north Juanita area was burglarized during the day of Dec. 5, with assorted jewelry, two credit cards and a laptop computer being taken. Police lifted some fingerprints from the basement of the house, where a 23-year-old woman and 27-year-old man live.


Dec. 7

  • A black box with the prescription drugs Oxycodone, Methadone and Alprazalon, totaling more than 500 pills, was stolen from an apartment on the 9900 block of NE 125th Street in Juanita, a 47-year-old female resident told police. She said when she arrived home just before 5 p.m. she discovered that someone had taken the drugs, but nothing else. Police found no entry or exit point and the home appeared secure. Police listed as also involved a 47-year-old man.
  • Staff at a store on Rose Hill’s NE 85th Street told police that at about 6 p.m. a woman was observed shoplifting a baby blanket. The woman returned the blanket and apparently unknowingly her wallet as well, which was inside the blanket. The store declined to press charges, but police took the wallet to the woman’s residence in Kirkland, were she signed a letter stating that if she went back to the store within a year, she would be trespassing.
